New body (VW Bug) for AMP MT

I just finished painting a Proline Baja Bug body for my AMP MT. It fits perfectly and the wheelbase is right on - which turned out to be a pretty big challenge, since most of the Bug bodies have wheelbases too large or unspecified.

Here it is!

@zarthsan that looks awesome man, best fitting body I've seen for the Amp so far. When mine breaks, this is the one I'll be getting. What body posts did you use? The front looks stock, but in the back?

Thanks everyone!

@xlDooM: Okay, so I can't recommend exactly how I did the rear posts. Mainly, I had to rig mine up because the guy at my local hobby shop sold me a set of RPM post-extenders that were about a 1/2" too short. So, I had to modify the ones he sold my by cutting off the end, filing down another 1/2" by hand in order to fit snugly and super-glue inside a cut-off section of a bic pen body, drilling 2 tiny holes in the pen body, and then using pins to hold them to the old mount points. It was PITA, and I wish I just bought some post-extenders that were long enough. Anyway, here is what it looks like:

On the upside, the position of the original posts looks really nice mounted onto the body (and don't have to come through the back window), so, that's nice.

@xlDooM Oh that looks perfect - I only wish that I'd seen those before I bought the RPM ones. In particular the taller exposed post (with a triangular collar to account for the curvature of the body) looks exactly on.

In fact, I may just order these myself to get rid of my half-assed version. :)

Hows the body slap with this shell, would be nice to have something a little less noisy than the amp truck body.

Huh, I'd never noticed body-slap I attributed to the actual body of the old car - I always assumed it was the back-bumper-motor-housing making all the noise after going over a jump and smashing on the ground.

Although, I have actually noticed that the car sounds quieter with this body on. I figure that has to do with the molded "engine" section which actually covers up the motor, and the fact it's so much thicker captured more sound.

IMG_3248.JPG Nice job. Don't worry about those pen bodies. They're tougher than you think. I extended my rear a lot to fit a blazer body on and it has taken some severe punishment and is holding strong.
