I don't know the first thing about maintenance…!

I've always been a fan of RC vehicles and I have had my ECX Circuit almost 2 years now and I honestly don't know the first thing about doing any kind of maintenance or upgrade work to my truck. I am about to replace the rear tires though and I want to do a motor swap to brushless. I could take my truck to the local hobby shop and have them do the work but then that's money I could be saving by doing the maintenance/cleaning work myself.

Are there Youtube videos out that explain maintenance and how to properly clean your vehicle. Will I mess up my vehicle if I spray water over everything after running it through a lot of dirt or is that a no no? Also I noticed today my truck is pulling to the left when I take my hand off the control. What do I need to adjust to get it to drive more straight?

Thanks!

@Chuck1906 my first suggestion would be to download the ECX Circuit exploded parts view here. This will show you in detail where every part on your Circuit goes, along with part number, which is nice to have when needing to replace something that's broken.

Second, don't be afraid to take it apart and take your time. Having a camera near by to snap a few pictures while you disassemble your RC can be useful too. Then you'll have a point in time snapshot of how things was and know where things go.

As for cleaning, I have always cleaned my RC's have been to use a 50/50 mixture of water and Simple Green in a spray bottle. Spray the RC down and let sit for a minute or two then either wipe down with clean cloth or air blast dry with an air compressor. Spray again on any stubborn spots and use an old toothbrush on any hard to reach areas.

Here's a video from Horizon Hobbies on them upgrading the motor on the ECX AMP which I know isn't the same as your Circuit but it should help get you started.
