IMG_3497.JPG IMG_3498.JPG This could be split between tires and wheels and drivetrain, bit because it's on an Amp I'll leave it here. I got caught up with work and took the day off to hang with my son and do some rc repairs. First I tried to modify my differential by filling it with 7000 weight silicone, adding thin washers, drilling a housing for an o ring and reassembling a differential. It was a disaster and I'm pretty sure I just destroyed the inner pinion set. I took it apart again and removed all add ons and just filled it with valvoline bearing grease. I'm gonna run it in tomorrow's race, but it may fail. I've got plenty of parts to rebuild it, but I've had the transmission out twice today already.
The second job today was to replace a broken rim on a virtually new tire. I tried the hair dryer, that was a joke. Then I set the oven to 300 and baked the wheel on one side for 24 minutes. The bottom side came loose, 6 minutes later the other side came loose. I sanded the extra glue off the tire and then reglued it to a new rim. Thin CA glue is what you want. You can spin the tire and roll it around the rim and it will seep in. All fixed now.

Even in failure, I'll give your kudos for trying. It's still more than the majority out there will ever do and without that, there will never be any innovation.

Hey Jeb, do you happen to know the part number on the Proline Badlands that you're running on this rig? I assume they originally came pre-mounted???
