Can the amp handle 2S?

I'm thinking of getting a safe, good 2S lipo that I could use for the amp, I'm a beginner, any suggestions?

A 30C 5000mHa (5 amp ) will work fine and give you a longer run time. If you go brushless you can use a 3S Lipo which will give you even a longer run time depending on the C rating and amperage. I run Gen Ace 60C 7200 amp battery and get about 1h 15 min run time.

I tried a 1500Mah LiIon and ended up with stripped gears. It was definitely punchier but the plastic gears stripped out on the next run with the stock battery.

You said gears, which gears? If you are talking about the plastic spur gear that should of not happened with that battery. What size is your pinion and how did you mesh the the two gears? If your talking about the differential gears I would suggest going to all metal differential. Let me know

Not the spur gear but small gear inside the trans stripped out. I ordered a metal gear set to fix the problem for good.
