Ok, fancy headline, just for eye catching.
Background: In every forum I read, there are hundreds of threads like "My gears worn out after x runs". Basically, I didn't bought any RC RTR cars with a good slipper clutch setup. Mostly it's MUCH too strong, like it was on my Torment.
So just watch this video, there are no further words needed:
 
Yep, slipper adjustment is pretty important. It's worth learning how to do it and what too tight and too loose feels like. I race my Circuit with a 13.5T brushless motor on astroturf (high traction). It's geared 78/29 and I use a 175RC plastic pinion (yes, plastic pinion!) and the stock all plastic transmission gears. I have had zero problems so far and I chalk that up to proper slipper setting.
