Been into this just over a month, swapped out the brushed setup for a castle sv3 4600kv motor and speed controller and replaced shocks with traxxas big bore. Huge difference in handling and the speed running on 2s lipo...wow.

No weights yet. Definitely need to add them as the front is light and doesn't want to bite on hard corners. Also need to upgrade the tires, the stock ones are way to hard.

I herd the badlands tires are nice and soft but when in full speed they balloon out and reduce traction. I guess on 2wd it would be fine. They are about a $60 upgrade. Automotive wheel weights for aluminum wheels work great and you can strategically placed on your RC car .

A Castle 4600K brushless combo here in California runs around $110 as long as you don't have to get another radio (controller).Add another $70 if you go to a 3S battery. I use the Gen Ace 7200mAh 3S battery for my trucks. If you use a 3S high amp battery you will have to modify your battery compartment. You buy kits for that or use you imagination. I used computer stand-offs to modify my battery compartment. You can also raise your body with the kit shown in the thumnail so you can put bigger tires on, which will give you more speed, and wheelies if your in to that. What's great about this hobby is you get to use your imagination.
