New to brushless

I installed Tazer 6 pole 3300 in my car with the Esc combo. I was having a hard time programming the ESC to go in reverse but finally got it going. I see the green light for lipo when I first turn on the car. Is there any other setting I must change before driving car? I tested about 5 minutes last night. Seems to be working well. I'm not sure if the lipo protection is activated. The blinking was kind of confusing me.
