Do you lube metal transmission gears?

I installed the ECX metal transmission gear set yesterday. I did not lube the gears, as the stock ones looked dry. Should I have added some?

I always lube metal gears a little to reduce friction, as that is was causes wear along with gear mesh Are they enclosed ?

I always lube my transmissions gears. For anything 1/8th scale or smaller I use white lithium grease. For my 1/5th scale stuff I use FastEddy dogbone and transmission grease.

I always lube the gears in my jeep. Its normal size tho!

I'd like to add that you should NOT use a heavy, sticky grease like you might use in a car or motorcycle. The lithium grease suggestion is a good one. FinishLine is another good brand and they make some good, light, PTFE greases that work well for bearings, gears, etc.
