ECX Torment/Ruckus 4WD Driveshaft Replacement

Hey guys, I was wondering if someone could direct me to a tutorial or youtube video showing how to replace the long driveshaft in my 4wd torment (the one going from the rear to the front transmission. Because these vehicles are increasingly rare, it's becoming harder to find simple tutorials. The little metal pin that couples the driveshaft into the transmission fell out during a run. Luckily Amazon has a couple driveshafts left in stock.

No videos that I could find, there isn’t nearly as many 1/10 4wd as there are 2wd. But here is my build thread. A ruckus is a little difference but close and 95% of parts are all 1/10 4wd interchangeable.

You’re essentially just trying to get the ECX231011 upper deck off. Lots of Phillips screws. Getting the battery out gives you a little visibility and gets some wiring out of the way. There is a plate over top the spur gear/slipper and a small cover over the pinion that will need to come off first. Lots of Phillips screws many different lengths and threads so you may want to take pics as you go or use the cardboard organizer trick.

Once that top deck is off the whole center driveshaft will be exposed. Rotate the slipper until you see where it connects to the rear diff come to 12 o’clock and the slipper and center shaft will lift right out.

ECX232015 is the center shaft for a Ruckus and nobody has one (Ive been looking). Is the one for yours different or can you share your source I need one? If it’s just the pins, I believe I may have the rebuild kit you need new in bag if you want me to look. I damaged my actual shaft.

I'm not sure either, but yes, that's the right part number. You're awesome dude, thanks! I was looking at one I was going to have to get from Australia. Super cheap, but expensive as hell to ship and over a month wait.

Amazon doesn't have it in stock at the moment, but it could return again. I've seen it happen before with that drive shaft. Or you could search the internet for the part number and see which other retailers might have one. I did replace the spur gear with this metal one from Hot Racing. https://www.ebay.com/p/1540500821?iid=165913360017

Since this part doesn't seem to be available anywhere has anyone used an alternate setup for the center drive shaft on the ECX Ruckus?
