guys i have a kit waiting to be build.

in front i bought a quick charger which was on the options list of the AMP.

20W NiMH AC Battery ChargerDYNC0500
DYNC0500-250.webp
  • AC Power Source (110- 240VAC)
  • 2-amp Charge Current
  • Compatible With 6- and 7-Cell Ni-MH Batteries
  • EC3 connector preinstalled
  • LED Charge Indicators
My question : Is this compatible with my standard 1800Mah battery?

The short answer is, Yes, it will work just fine with your Amp's stock battery. It will charge 10 times faster than the stock Amp's charger. The problem lies in if you upgrade batteries, such as lipo. That charger is incapable of balance charging, therefore should not be used for lipo.

So, yes, it is an upgrade.....but perhaps not the upgrade that will be worthwhile in the long run.

but what about i read everywhere that you cant charge 1800mah with a 2A current?

for now i do not want to go for LIPO just want to charge faster than 10 hours :)

Most batteries are rating for atleast 1C charging. For a 1800mAh battery, that would be 1.8A. .2A is not enough to worry about. I would try charging it, if it heats up excessively during charging then you have an issue. I think you'll be fine.

You can charge it just fine at 2A. Generally a charge rate of 1C (charging current equal to capacity) is considered perfectly ok.

In fact I've charged my 1800 packs at 3.5A many times, and once even pumped a fast half-charge in it at 5A.

They get hot when you charge them fast, but not as hot as when you discharge them in the car...
